
Animal Production is a course designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the efficient management, breeding, nutrition, health, and general production of livestock. The course covers the principles and practices involved in rearing various farm animals such as cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, and rabbits for commercial and subsistence purposes.Learners are introduced to topics such as animal breeding and genetics, animal nutrition, housing and management, disease control, and livestock production systems. Emphasis is placed on sustainable and ethical animal husbandry practices that enhance productivity while ensuring animal welfare and environmental conservation.Through both theory and practical sessions, learners develop competencies in selecting appropriate breeds, formulating animal feeds, managing breeding programs, and maintaining farm records.
